Desiree and Keri have been friends since they met at College Prep in Alabama. Desiree is Deaf and grew up with sign language. Keri is hard-of-hearing and learned sign language in college. They both wear hearing aids. For the livestreams, Keri simcoms (signing and speaking simultaneously) and Desiree signs. Keri voice interprets for Desiree.

Hi! I'm Desiree, or Desi. I am an ASL teacher, poet, and content creator.

I am Deaf and have been my entire life. I had early access to ASL and the Deaf Community, but still grew up in a hearing family, which is something many deaf people can relate to!
​
I focus on creating content that is Deaf related and comes from my personal experiences - from motherhood to dealing with struggles in the hearing world and more. I also talk about Deaf awareness and Deaf culture.
​
Some of my hobbies include: macrame, photography, and reading. I love books - and shows - about vampires. I also love Gilmore Girls.

I live in Alabama and am married. We have 3 children (who I call A1, A2, and A3) and 2 dogs (Dean and Grayson). And yes, Dean is named after Supernatural.
I hope to write a book one day that has Deaf character (or more than one Deaf characters) that is immersed in Deaf world.

My name is Keri! I'm a Wife, Mom, and Author, K.T. James. I have been hard-of-hearing since I was three; however, I knew nothing of the Deaf world until I was heading to college. I began learning sign language, which changed my life...from having better access to communication, to falling in love with the Deaf community, and gaining best friends and acceptance.
I have dreamed of seeing deaf/hard-of-hearing characters in stories - a character like me, since I was old enough to read. Since I rarely found it, I decided to use my writing to include those type of characters. I spent my childhood scribbling stories mostly when I ran out of books to read and have collected a pile of half-novels, loads of short stories, and a couple of (somewhat) decent completed ones that I'm revising to publish. Today, I live and work in the Magic City, or Birmingham, Alabama with a happy-go-lucky kindergartner, and a tiny toddler girl, a rambunctious canine, and a husband who is more patient than I have ever dreamed I would marry.
