It’s been several months since I’ve last updated this blog. I’ve continued to write (not daily) but I stopped updating my blog, Instagram, and FaceBook pages. Not on purpose, mind you. Life simply happened.
Summer Break
After #CampNaNo, I continued to write and edit my novels. I finished the Deaf Tales short stories – now I need to edit and start my second draft on that one. Summer came and with it, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law moved to town. Between hanging out, helping them move, exercising, and helping my other sister-in-law with her wedding PLUS having a mobile baby, my summer writing was minimal.
Refreshed
I feel refreshed from my mini break. While, I did do #CampNaNo in July – on adding additional chapters to The Lost Daughter, I still haven’t finished adding the additional chapter needed (Part Two was minimal and Part Three nearly non-existent, so I am working on adding more) but am drawing closer than ever to finishing that one and beginning the editing process.
Writing Again
It may seem like I only write during the “NaNoWriMo” time (April, July, and November), but I do continue writing – having a writing group definitely helps! I may not write nearly as much as I should, and I am working on changing that. My writing group and I have set a goal (at least until NaNo) of writing at least 250 words every day. It may not be a blog post, it may only be a paragraph, but it is writing and a good habit to begin.
So, Another Goal
I am not the best at completing goals. But my newest goals should be easy to meet – I can write at least 250 words in a day. As long as I try, I won’t be upset with myself and stop my new habit. At least, this is my plan. And hey, I met today’s goal!
Side Note
I may not have written as much as I wanted to this summer; however, I definitely did read! Yes, some of them were my “beach books” (novels that don’t require thinking and are an easy read) but between reading for pleasure, reading in the many car trips, and reading to my son, I’m sure I read over fifty books!
Write on!
